Summer Blues

I hope you're all enjoying your summer so far! The beginning of my summer was quite busy with travel—two trips home, Nashville for a bridal shower, London to visit another friend, and then Michigan for the Fourth of July. I'm excited for a slower July and ready to soak in the hot and humid Charleston summer. I might regret saying that come September.

I'm currently inspired by none other than the ocean. The natural blues, whites, and sandy tones of the beach, along with the relaxed and refreshed feeling of being near the water, are exactly what I want my July to feel like.

This “summer blues” mood board is an ode to that feeling.

Place: Lake Michigan. My favorite place to be in the summer. If you haven’t been to West or North Michigan I highly recommend!

Watching: A Good Year - A go-to movie for me when I am chasing that relaxed summer feeling.

Listening to: Été - my summer jazz playlist. I Imagine myself listening to this playlist sitting on the Còte d’Azur sipping a chilled Sancerre. Transport me now!

Recipe: Ina Garten’s fresh corn salad. My sister-in-law introduced me to this recipe and it has become a summer staple.

Wearing: All the white (how cute is this dress from Tuckernuck!), stripes, crisp button downs, fisherman sweaters on a chilly night. Those nights don’t happen very often in Charleston, if ever in the middle of summer, so I always look forward to visiting my family back in the midwest where the evenings are cool.
